Born and raised in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Salem Ruiz has always been drawn to helping both animals and people. As a teenager, she began volunteering and working at various veterinary practices across Arizona, quickly realizing that becoming a veterinarian was the perfect way to make a positive impact on her community.
Dr. Ruiz earned her Bachelor’s in Biology from Grand Canyon University in 2020, before continuing her education at the University of Arizona, where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include dermatology, internal medicine, and preventative care—areas where she strives to provide the best care to her patients.
When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Ruiz is usually ringside, cheering on Hangman from AEW (All Elite Wrestling), soaking in all the action. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, exploring the stunning landscapes of northern Arizona, and indulging in her love for fresh strawberries. Dr. Ruiz is also known for keeping the staff well-fed, always bringing in delicious treats and keeping everyone up to date on the latest weekly flavors from Crumbl. Outside of work, you’ll often find her stocking up on bulk snacks from Winco—because who doesn’t love a well-stocked pantry? Her generosity and thoughtful nature make her a cherished part of the team!
